PCV VALVE & CRANKCASE FILTER

The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve prevents accumulation of harmful vapors in the engine crankcase and, thus, development of sludge in the engine oil. The valve allows these vapors to be burned by the engine in a controlled manner which, in turn, increases fuel economy and decreases air pollution. The crankcase (or breather) filter cleans the air that is drawn into the crankcase.
